Next week I am going to down to Sydney (Australia) to begin to have my teeth fixed...by fixed I mean to have all the Amalgam fillings removed and to get rid of t root canal which has been troubling me ever since the local dentist convinced me I had to have one... In Austrailia the best known specialist dentist who does this properly, ensuring you don't cop toxic loads of mercury when they drill out the old muck is dr Robert gammal. I have his link here and on this blog permanently. Before going to Sydney for this which i have been wsaving for and hoping to have done for ages... I had a look at the web site... of the clinic. It is excellent and has really up to date information of health issues caused by dentistry...and fluorides... I hope you will get as much out of this site as I have. There is always something new to learn every day. http://www.bcd.com.au/

I asked my dentist about this, after I read your article. (You really DO have a voice which is heard you know!) And I take what you have to say quite seriously.
He said that many of his patients come in to have mercury amalgam fillings removed and a different amalgam installed. He doesnt like doing it because (he says) it is so difficult to make absolutely sure that no tiny particle ends up going down the patient's throat. One particle will leach more heavy metal into your system than a lifetime of leaving the fillings alone.
He feels that if you just leave the blessed things be, they will leave you alone.
He also does not use mercury amalgam in new fillings. Mostly because the ceramic stuff doesn't react with tin foil. As he says, gold, stainless steel and mercury will last more than a lifetime. There is a reason they were used so extensively.
This is interesting since he stands to make a LOT of money by just yanking out the mercury fillings. His comment when I suggested he take all the mercury out of my mouth was "Wont help, might hurt, will make me a lot of money. Can you afford to get a needless procedure done?"
Anyway, just a comment. Not trying to change the world, or your mind, or anything.

Stag - Middle Child here - I haven't posted here since just after my husband was killed in May 2007 - The dentist I went to specialises in removing these fillings - he and his assistant and I wore Oxygen masks and there was a barrier which covered the inside of the mouth and they worked inside that barrier. They even shower before leaving work. In my case I had ten fillings and they were beginning to leak . I had a dreadful metallic taste in my mouth often. So we saved our pennies and did the lot in a week period. I had them all taken out minus any needlse - so brave. The taste went and I have to say within about two months my health improved greatly which was a good thing because then we had a battle with the hospital to protect my husband when they botched his treatment. They killed him. Since then have battled for some justice - in the end found none so published a book about what was done to him. Its called "Without Due care" - http://withoutduecare.com.au
I am with you - an ordinary dentist should not touch mercury fillings. There are only a couple qualified that I know of in Australia. I can only speak from my own experience..for me it worked but all care should be taken if one decides to go ahead.
