Another Fluoride Spill -
Accidents do Happen.
The Hastings Safe Water Association urges all residents of the Hastings to consider the outcome should the Hastings Port Macquarie Council continue on their hell bent path, against the wishes of the majority of residents and fluoridate the Hastings.
We are assured that Fluoridation is safe. So why when there are spills do the authorities feel it necessary to warn residents not to drink the water? That one question (amongst many) has never been addressed by Council, the NSW Health Department, The Australian Medical Association, the Australian Dental Association or the National Health and Medical Research Council.
All these bodies assure us that Fluoridation is 100% safe and no one need ever be concerned about its introduction.
So when The president of Pennsylvania American Water Co. apologized to customers for the fluoride spill that left thousands of West Shore residents without water in December saying "Please accept our deepest apologies for any inconvenience this caused," we need our health bodies to answer why stop the water if Fluorides are so safe?
Water was contaminated Dec. 10 when 600 to 700 gallons of hydrofluorosilicic acid used in the fluoridation process spilled at the company's Yellow Breeches Water Treatment Plant in Fairview Twp. The water company issued a “do-not-consume” advisory for 34,000 home and business customers in 14 municipalities in Cumberland and northern York counties. The advisory was lifted the following day.
Municipal officials and residents complained that they didn't receive proper notification of the spill or the restrictions on water usage. The spill was caused by operator error and that policies and procedures that would have prevented it weren't followed.
Our Mayor Rob Drew and those authorities who support and actively promote artificial fluoridation have not given a guarantee to Hastings Residents that they would be prepared for an accidental spill and also it appears from their lack of responses to our questioning that they have no contingency plans should such an accident occur.
In 2006 this is just not good enough for Hastings residents, nor for the residents of any area threatened by forced Fluoridation of the public water supply.
