Fluoride promoters silent

The Hastings Safe Water Association

Fluoride Promoters Silent on issue of
Financial Liability for Water Fluoridation.
2/8/04
“On the 9/7/04 the Hastings Safe Water Association sent letters out to the six Councillors who handed over responsibility for Water Fluoridation to the NSW Health Department. As of yet we have received no response nor even acknowledgement from these six Councillors, Rob Drew, Rob Nardella, David Mayne, Daphne Johnston, Bob Sharpham and Adam Prussing. Said Therese Mackay

We also sent the same letter to Terry Clout and John Irving from the Mid North Coast Area Health Service and to all the Board members of that organization. To this date no acknowledgement nor written response from any of these public servants.

The same letter was sent to the Division of General Practice and to all Hastings Dentists. No response there either. Our letter contained a Declaration of good faith as the above people have all actively promoted Water Fluoridation or belong to organizations who actively promote Water Fluoridation.

“As all these people appear to believe that Water Fluoridation will do “No Harm” we are mystified by the deafening silence and lack of response from all the above.
All the above named people and bodies will bear full responsibility to the people of the Hastings should even one person suffer any harm at all from Fluoridation. Individuals remaining silent doesn’t change what they are doing, nor lesson their responsibility. President of the Hastings Safe Water Association Therese Mackay said

All the above bodies might like to consider this quote from the authors of the York Review into Fluoridation, when in 2003 they issued a press release to correct misrepresentations on their report. Their press release re-affirms that,
“We were unable to discover any reliable good-quality evidence in the fluoridation literature world-wide…the evidence about reducing inequalities in dental health was of poor quality, contradictory and unreliable. “ (McDonagh 2003)

We hope that members of the above bodies of people will have the courage to either sign our declaration, or make a stand and state openly that they are not sure enough of the total safety of Water Fluoridation to sign a legally binding document.

“If they are not prepared to sign, then their beliefs must be on very shallow and shaky ground and residents have every right to be apprehensive about those who purport to be protectors of our health here in the Hastings. Said Therese Mackay
